Q. How do i work with packages in Yum Exteder ?
You just click on the ‘Checkbox’ to switch the state of the package.
Available -> Added to queue for installation.
Updates -> Added to queue for updating.
Installed -> Added to queue for removal.You can always reverse the action by click on the package check box again or by deleting the package from the queue view.
When you have made the selection you want to apply, you just press the ‘Process Queue’ button.
After depsolving is complete you will get at confirmation dialog, where you can see what packages there will be installed/updated/removed.
Q. What does the package colors mean ?
Red = Package is a update to a installed package.
Blue = Package is obsoleting a installed package.
Green = Package is installed.
Black = Available package.
Q. What does the “green plus ” / “star on rectangle (document)” means ?
The “green plus ” / “star on rectangle” means that a packages is recent.
- If it is in the update/install view it means that this version of the package has been added to the repository in the last 14 days.
- If it is in the remove view it means that the package as been installed on the system in the last 14 days.
