Changes:

• Made yumex work better with yum plugins so they can add command line options to yumex.
  Ex. if the skip-broken plugin is enabled, then it will add the
  '--skip-broken' option to yumex.
• Added Save/Load of package queue, last queue is autosaved to '/tmp/last-queue.yumex'
• Check 'Changelog' of more changes.

I have released the next generation for Yum Extender 1.9.1 Development in Fedora Extras Development.
It works with Fedora Core 6 & Fedora Rawhide (FC7).

Changes:

• Works with Python 2.5 (Currently in Rawhide)
• Added support for defining logging application in yum ( >= 3.0.4) so it is written in syslog,
• Change the way actions are run in the background to make the gui responible.
• Queue is not cleared when a error occurs in the Transaction.
• Fixed rpmlint error in rpm and srpm.

Changes/ Fixes:

• Made some internal changes to make yum work with the sqlite code in Python 2.5 (Fedora Rawhide).
• Changes to the logging to make integrate better with the yum logging.
• fixed some rpmlint errors.

I have just released the 1.9.0 development of yumex.
yumex 1.9.0 is a total rewrite of yumex to make it faster and easier to maintain.

New stuff :

• Repository View.
• Select what repositories to use.
• Make and use repository profiles.
• Little padlock to show that gpgcheck is enabled for repository.
• new yumex.conf option 'repo_exclude=' to filter repositories shown in repo view. Default value is 'repo_exclude=debug,source'.
  Add 'repo_exclude=' to /etc/yumex.conf to show source and debug info repositories in repo view.
• Preferences is working again.
• Commandline options is working again. (yumex --help to list options)

What is working:

• All the basic stuff showing packages.
• Adding/removing packages from the queue.
• Processing the Queue (installing/updating/removing packages)
• Show packages by different categories.
• Group view (show, install, remove groups)
• Search and filtering in package view.
• quick add feature in queue view
• type 'install foo' to add the foo package to the queue for installation
• type 'remove foo' to add the foo package to the queue for removal.
• multi packages can be added at once (install foo bar)
• wildcard are allowed (install foo* will add all packages staring with foo)

• No repository selection ( work on the repos enabled in repo files)
• No Command line options.
• Most menu stuff are not implemented yet.
• No Preferences.

Yum Extender 1.2.0 has been released, it will be availible in Fedora Extras (FC6 & Devel) .
This release only work with yum >= 3.0 (FC6 and later).

Mayor features:

• Yum Extender Launcher.
• Select Update only mode, debug mode, Auto Metadata load, Repository Profile & Disable plugins before yumex starts.
• Update Only Mode (Faster).
• I you only want to install updates, yumex will start faster and only show the updates package view.
• Category View
• Show packages ordered by the following categories: RPM Groups, Age ,Sizes,Arch & Repositories.
• Extra Buttons.
• Add & Process : Add selected packages to queue and start processing.
• Quit button on 'Processing Complete' dialog for fast exit.
• User Selected Font & colors for ouput views and package details.
• Working with the lastest Yum 3.0 API.
